Plantain chips
Plantain chip is a fast snack for those lazy days. This is one food you should hide away, nobody ever says NO to a plantain snack. Its simply unheard of.
Grab one, grab two and its non-stop munch. As a student I loved eating this snack, I used to spend my money buying them without bothering to know how it was prepared. Save those coins darlings!
I hope this recipe helps.
Ingredients 1 serving
2 large unripe plantain
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt to taste
Directions
Pour a generous amount of oil into a pot or deep pan, place on medium heat and leave to come up to 375 degrees, check by placing a piece of plaintain, if it bubbles then youre good to go, but if it sinks, give more time.
In the meantime peel the skin of the plantain. Use a very sharp knife or mandoline, and slice the plantain lenth wise or width wise.
Fry the plantain until golden brown. Do not clump.
Transfer plaintains to a paper towel lined bowl and sprinkle salt.
Allow to cool down.
You tasty crunchy plantain snack is ready. Munch away guys.
Make this recipe even healthier by baking the plantain instead of frying.
