Exfoliants and Scrubs, what is the Difference ??

Exfoliants and Scrubs, What is the difference ??

They say Ignorance is Lack of Knowledge...Indeed! There are so many pages online misleading lots and lots of people. Whether done intentionally or otherwise, only God knows.
Regardless, Its still 2020 the last time I checked, and misinformation and disinformation are signs of Gross negligence, but who takes this into consideration ?

As much as possible, many times I lay emphasis on Research. And people think its a joke. It's no JOKE. This manufacturers and producers and sellers give bare minimum f*cks about knowledge and research, so it's left for You to do your skin a favour and get the job done. Never be too quick to purchase a product because of its packaging and nice "Write-ups ".
Believe me, I've made those mistakes too, but it's all in the past now.

Your skin is precious and unless you have large sums of money to squander away when it's damaged. I suggest you keep it safe

I'd make this post precise and to the point. Get out a pen and paper or screenshot any important information in this post, and If you have any questions, don't forget to put hem in the comment section. I'd do my best to reply and explain to the best of my knowledge.

NOW
What are Body Scrubs ?
What are Exfoliants?

First thing you need to know is that Body Scrubs are not Exfoliants and Exfoliants are not Body Scrubs!

Body Scrubs are more or less like abrasives not the harsh kinds though. Just tiny little grits and bits E.g Salts(Epsom and sea salts) and Sugar.
It could also be skins from a nut or its shell or combination of the two.

Body Scrubs could contain Exfoliants. Do you get the point ?

Those grits and bits are crushed, beaded or rounded... Especially in Facial Scrubs!

Body Scrubs, oils and Butters

Although Body Scrubs and Exfoliants perform nearly same functions but the most common is They Exfoliate.

However, EXFOLIANTS could be toners, a brightening cream, micro dermabrasion and Chemical peeling. Packed in Liquid, gels or even powdered forms!

Exfoliants contain safe brightening acid ingredients Such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and so on

A more natural substitute would be orange/lemon peels combined with some form of humectant base, for instance Honey or Glycerin or Lactic Acid or carrier oils. Read that again if you need to.

Much like body Scrubs but Better. Products sink in a lot better and actually heal majority of skin problems faster.

Exfoliants are Fast acting and Body Scrubs are much slower.  In 2-3 weeks an Exfoliant can solve a skin problem that will take body Scrubs 6weeks or more. Results are both convincing and visible in the end. It just depends on what you want or what you're looking for...

However, depending on skin type, I'd ask that you choose wisely too.
Most body Scrubs contain large amount of oils and Butters, which is a NO-NO for OILy skin, let it fly far away from your face. Unless it's non comedogenic Oils.  Left to me Scrubs with some form of peel or Brightening ingredient are my preferred choice. I'm not a quick action kind.

Use Exfoliants MORE on Private parts than a Normal Body SCRUB

People who use exfoliants are more succetiple to darkening when skin is exposed to sun. too. Meaning
Exfoliants require Sun protection especially when used on Face.
So when stepping out don't forget to dab an extra layer of Sunscreen on your way out.

In the end no one is better than the other really. Which ever you choose, stick to it and get a Good Sunscreen!
